Bruce G. Jones Dentistry aims for WCAG 2.1 AA on brucegjonesdds.com. What we have done, known limitations, and how to request help or report a problem.

Last reviewed: October 21, 2026

Our Commitment

Bruce G. Jones Dentistry wants every patient and visitor, including people with disabilities, to be able to find information, request an appointment and learn about their care on brucegjonesdds.com. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice for websites under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and we treat accessibility as part of how we build and maintain the Site.

Conformance Status

The Site is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that most content meets the standard and that we are aware of a small number of exceptions, listed below, which we are working to fix.

Measures We Take

  • One descriptive H1 and a logical heading order on every page so screen reader users can navigate by structure.
  • Descriptive alternative text on informative images and empty alt text on purely decorative ones.
  • Text and button colors chosen to meet the 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio, with body text at 16 px or larger.
  • Keyboard access to menus, links, buttons, accordions and forms, with visible focus indicators.
  • Form fields with labels, error messages in text, and no time limits on completing forms.
  • Videos hosted on YouTube with captions available through the player.
  • An accessibility toolbar, opened from the icon on every page, that lets you enlarge text, raise contrast, change spacing, pause animation and use a reading guide.
  • Automated scanning of the Site for accessibility issues with each content update, plus manual checks with keyboard-only navigation and a screen reader on major changes.

Known Limitations

  • Some older blog posts from 2018 to 2022 use images with generic alternative text. We are updating them as posts are reviewed.
  • The embedded Google Map on the Request an Appointment page is provided by Google and may not be fully operable by keyboard. The address and a text link to directions are provided next to it.
  • PDF documents linked from the Site may not be tagged for screen readers. Call us and we will provide the content in another format.

Technical Information

It is tested in current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on desktop and mobile. Accessibility of this Site depends on these technologies working with the assistive technology and browser you use.
